Government has taken a number of steps to make state police forces more effective in dealing with internal security situation. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, the Minister of State for Home Mr Mullapally Ramachandran gave details of the measures taken in this direction. They include better training facilities and provision of sophisticated weaponry. He said, Centre attaches great importance to Police training and Police Personnel have been sent to different training institutes to get updated about the latest technology. Some of the institutes are out side India.<br/><br/>
