These include a robust security and intelligence grid, group security in the form of static guards, day and night area domination, and round-the-clock checking at Nakas.<br />''<br />''In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said patrolling is being carried out in the areas where the minorities reside besides proactive operations against terrorists. Mr Rai informed that 34 persons belonging to minority communities have lost their lives in terrorist-related incidents in Jammu and Kashmir during the last five years.<br />''<br />''The Minister said an ex-gratia of five lakh rupees is given under a Central scheme to the next of kin of those killed in terrorist incidents. In addition to this, Jammu and Kashmir government gives one lakh rupees ex gratia to the next of kin of persons killed in militancy-related violence.</span><br />
