Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said in the Lok Sabha today that the government has taken a serious note of the recent killings in a Gurudwara in the United States. Responding to Members' concern over the incident, he said Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh has spoken to President Obama for taking effective steps to prevent such incidents in future. He said that the U S has acknowledged the gravity of the incident by flying its flag at half mast in memory of those killed in the tragic incidentfor the first time in the history of US.
Mr Bansal urged the opposition not to politicize the matter any more. However, not satisfied with the Minister's statement, the BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal members trouped into the well of the House. Amidst the turmoil, the Chair adjourned the House till 2 PM.
