The government today is taking a number of steps to boost tourism in the country. This includes development and promotion of caravan and heliport tourism. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Tourism Minister Kumari Selja said a pilot project is already on for a period of one year visa on arrival for tourists from five countries namely Singapore, Finland, New Zealand, Luxembourg and Japan. She said the number of foreign tourist arrivals in the country during January to June this year estimated to be 2.63 million.
