Government has taken note of the decision of the RBI Monetary Policy Committee to keep the policy rate and policy stance unchanged. <br/><br/>In a statement, Finance Ministry said, it has noted that this decision has been made in light of analysis which implies downward revision of the real GVA growth forecast for 2017-18 from 7.3 percent to 6.7 percent. <br/><br/>It also implies marginally upward revision of the CPI inflation forecast for the second half of the year which means an average inflation of less than 4 percent for the year whole year. <br/><br/>The Ministry also welcomed the institution building initiatives of finalising the Business to Business Non Banking Financial Company regulations. It will improve financing for smaller firms and increase retail participation in government securities.
