Government has taken several initiatives for skill up gradation of youth to enhance their employability. This includes launch of craftsman training scheme, apparent ship training ship and skill development initiatives. Replying a question in the Rajya Sabha the Labour and Employment Minister Mr. Mallikarjun Kharge said employment exchanges also provide vocational guidance to register job seekers. This he said is besides the recommendations to introduce compulsory models on communication skills, english language proficiency, entrepreneurship development skills and computer related programmes. He informed the House that there are 3.79 crore unemployed youth registered in the employment exchanges.
