The government has stepped up coal supplies to power firms to overcome the load-shedding crisis. The Coal Ministry swung into action after power supply was badly hit in some parts, including North India.
An official release said that the coal dispatch has now increased to 180 rakes per day. Of this, 149 rakes were sent to power sector. The release said the supply is likely to be increased further over the next few days.
