The government today said that only those social media accounts which have posted objectionable and inflammatory content, are being blocked. Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde assured that there is no need for others to be concerned as the government will not level charges unnecessarily on them, be it SMS or Facebook or Twitter.

Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, the Minister said that the government is not doing any censorship. He said that only those sites and pictures have been blocked, which were showing foreign country's pictures and were harmful to the communal harmony in the country.
