Govt. sets up expert committee to revisit entire pattern of Civil Services Exam

The government has set up an expert committee consisting of leading academicians, technocrats and senior bureaucrats to revisit the entire pattern, syllabus and eligibility criteria for Civil Services examination. This was disclosed by Minister of State for Personnel Dr. Jitendra Singh while speaking to a group of civil services aspirants in New Delhi today. Dr. Singh said further changes in the exam pattern will be contemplated on the basis of the report of the committee with the primary objective of providing a level playing field to aspirants from diverse streams of curriculum.<br/> <br/>He clarified that the General Studies Paper-II (CSAT) in the Preliminary Examination will remain of qualifying nature with minimum marks of 33 percent till the expert committee submits its report and government takes a decision on the recommendations.
