Government has set a target of disbursing Rs 1.80 lakh crore under Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana in 2016-17. This is 50 per cent more than last year's target of 1.22 lakh crore. <br/><br/>Addressing media in New Delhi after chairing a quarterly performance review meeting with the chief executive officers of Public Sector Banks and Financial Institutions, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today said that bank have not only achieved previous year's target, but also distributed more than Rs 12,000 crore.<br/><br/>More than three crore people were given loans under the MUDRA scheme in the last fiscal. The Mudra Scheme was launched in April last year, under which loans between 50 thousand and 10 lakh rupees are provided to small entrepreneurs.
