Govt sets a target of increasing share of natural gas from 6.7 percent to 15 percent by 2030: Petroleum Minister Hardeep Puri in LS

<span style="color: #222222;">Petroleum and Natural Gas  Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has said that the process of creating City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks is being carried out all over the Country. Replying to questions in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Puri said that the Government has already covered more than 90 percent of geographical area. He said that the prices of LNG increased only 5 percent compared to other countries where the increase was more than 37 percent.  <br />''<br />''The minister informed the House that the Government has set a target of increasing the share of natural gas in the primary energy mix from 6.7 percent to 15 percent by 2030. He said that expanding the city gas distribution network through the establishment of CNG stations and providing piped natural gas to households, industries, and commercial establishments is one of the strategies for increasing the consumption of natural gas. He said that the number of CNG stations established by various authorized entities has increased from one thousand seven hundred forty-two in 2019 to 3878 by January this year.</span><br />
