Govt set to encourage investment in priority sector: Arun Jaitley

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday assured that Government will give top priority to encourage investment in priority sector.<br/><br/>Mr. Jaitley had a dialogue with important personalities from various fields in Pune on measures taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various Economic Issues.<br/><br/>He also assured that Tax reforms will be expedited and simplified, suitable indirect tax system will replace present system at the earliest.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day Mr. Jaitley inaugurated the new building of the College of Agriculture and Allied Science at Baramati.<br/><br/>He also attended the renaming ceremony of the Vidya Pratishthan College of Engineering as Kamalnayan Bajaj Institute of Engineering and Technology at Baramati.<br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion he said that agriculture sector is facing major challenges today and to face these challenges we need to establish institutions like Krishi Vidnyan Kendra Baramati all over the country.<br/><br/>NCP Leader Sharad Pawar was also present on this occasion.<br/><br/>In his speech he gave emphasis on restructuring of Sugar Industry.<br/><br/>Mr. Jaitley was received personaly by Mr Pawar on Friday at Lohagaon Airport of Pune. He spent last night at Pawar's Govind Baug residence near Baramati.<br/><br/>This fuelled speculations in political circles as this development is being seen in the context of the soured ties between the BJP and its ally in government, Shiv Sena, and against the backdrop of Pawar's party offering unconditional outside support to the BJP last year after the latter emerged as the single largest party to stake claim to form government after Assembly elections.
