Govt seeks report on allegations of tampering Sunanda Pushkar's post-mortem report

Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has sought a report from the AIIMS Director on the allegations that post-mortem report of former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar was doctored.

Taking to media on the sideline of a programme in New Delhi today the Minister said that he got to know about it through media and has asked for a detail report on the issue.

Dr Vardhan was replying to a query that AIIMS forensic department head Dr Sudhir Gupta filed an affidavit in Central Administrative Tribunal, revealing that he was forced by two former Ministers of UPA II Government to report normal death in the autopsy report.

Sunanda was found dead in January this year in a Five star hotel in New Delhi under mysterious circumstances.

Delhi Police today said that it will look into the allegation made by Dr Sudhir Gupta in an affidavit that he was forced by two former Ministers of UPA II to report normal death of Sunanda Pushkar in the autopsy report . Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi said, if necessary, Dr Gupta will be questioned. He said Sunanda's Husband and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor will also be questioned if required.

BJP has demanded a probe by the Supreme Court into the death of former Union Minister Minister Shashi Tharoor's wife Sunanda Pushkar. Party leader Subramanium Swamy told media in New Delhi that he would file a petition in the apex court by the end of this month. He alleged that Sunanda was murdered. Swamy claimed that Sunanda had said that she would expose Indian Premiere League (IPL) deals.
