Govt seeks Parliament nod for additional spending of Rs 56,256 crore

Finance minister Arun Jaitley today sought Rs 56,256 crore as gross additional expenditure in the second batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants. <br/><br/>Introducing this in the Lok Sabha, Mr Jaitley said out of this, proposals involving net cash outgo aggregate will be Rs 18,195 crore. Mr Jaitley said Rs 5735 crore have been earmarked for meeting expenditure towards increased rate of relief on pensions and growth in pensions for defence personnel. <br/><br/>The minister informed the House that for implementing the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Rs 2155 crore will be spent. Provision has been made to spend Rs 2700 crore from the supplementary demands for grants for meeting additional expenditure of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
