The government has sought cooperation from all political parties to ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses of Parliament saying it is ready to discuss any issue. <br/><br/>Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar told reporters after an all-party meeting convened on the eve of the Winter Session of Parliament that Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested for cooperation by all to make the session fruitful. <br/><br/>He said, Mr. Modi also made a mention of simultaneous polls for Parliament and state assemblies so that sufficient time is available for the government of the day to devote to development. <br/><br/>Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said the opposition will raise the issue of curtailing the duration of the session, Prime Minister's remarks against former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and others and violation of model of conduct by BJP leaders. He said the opposition would like the government to substantiate the charges levelled by Mr Modi about the conspiratorial meeting of Congress leaders and others with a Pakistani delegation. <br/><br/>The all-party meeting was attended by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Mulayam Singh Yadav of Samajwadi Party, Mohd. Saleem of CPI(M) among others. <br/><br/>The meeting is usually held ahead of every session to seek the cooperation of political parties to ensure smooth functioning of both the Houses of Parliament. <br/><br/>Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan is also holding a meeting of floor leaders of different political parties to discuss the smooth functioning of the House. <br/><br/>Earlier, opposition parties also had a separate meeting to chalk out strategy to counter the government on various issues. <br/><br/>The meeting was attended among others by Mallikarjun Kharge of Congress, Farooq Abdullah of National Conference, Derek O' Brien of TMC, D Raja of CPI and Jai Prakash Narayan Yadav of RJD.
