The government today said the second phase of digitisation of cable TV will be completed by 31st of March next year. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting minister Manish Tewari said, consumers in 38 cities, having a population of over 10 lakh, will be benefitted by the digitisation. He sought the cooperation of the state governments for implemention of the second phase. Mr Tiwari said his ministry has achieved 97 per cent success of digitisation including DTH in the four metros, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai. The minister said over one crore households in four metro cities have been benefitted by this.
