<span style="color: #222222;">The Government today said that 1.85 lakh persons have been offered work in May this year under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, MGNREGA despite COVID-19 pandemic. The work offered is 52 per cent higher in comparison to&nbsp;May 2019.&nbsp;The Rural Development Ministry said, the government has ensured that the development works across the country should not be affected due to the 2nd wave of COVID-19. It said, during the period, the country has witnessed speed and progress in various schemes under the ministry.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Apart from the developmental works, the Ministry has also trained nodal persons at state, district and block level to tackle the COVID-19 situation in rural areas under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
