Govt says there have been no instances of incursions by Chinese troops into Indian territory

Government today said, there have been no instances of incursions by Chinese troops into Indian territory. Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in a written reply told Lok Sabha that there is no commonly delineated Line of Actual Control, LAC between India and China and there are areas along the border including where India and China have differing perception of LAC. As both sides undertake patrolling upto their perception of the LAC, transgressions do occur.<br/><br/>On construction activities in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, the Defence Minister said Government has conveyed its concerns to China about their activities and asked them to cease such activities. He said, Government regularly takes up any transgression along LAC with the Chinese side through established mechanisms including Flag meetings, Border Personnel meetings, meetings of Working Mechanism for Consultation and Coordination on India-China Border Affairs and diplomatic channels. He said issues relating to abetting infiltration along India-Pakistan border are taken up with Pakistan military authorities through the established mechanism of Flag Meetings and weekly talks between the Directorate Generals of Military Operations of both the countries. Mr. Parrikar said, government is fully seized of the security needs of the country and necessary steps are taken to address the national security concerns.<br/><br/>
