<span style="color: #222222;">Government has said that optimum stock of foodgrains is available in the country. In a written a written reply in the  Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti denied that the foodgrains stocks in the country are on a 15 year low. She said the system of Targeted Public Distribution System has been implemented throughout the country since 2013 covering a maximum of about 81.35 crore beneficiaries. The Priority Household beneficiaries are provided 5 Kilogram per head per month and Antyodaya Ann Yojana (AAY) families are provided 35 Kg per month. She also informed that all necessary measures to ensure food security under National Food Security Act, Other Welfare Schemes and Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojna are already in place.</span><br />
