The Government in a bid to end the Parliament impasse reached out to BJP saying it was ready for a discussion on the 2G spectrum issue; however it rejected the opposition demand for a JPC probe in this regard. Leader of the Lok Sabha and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday called NDA Working-Chairperson L K Advani and Leader of Opposition in the Lower House Sushma Swaraj to discuss the continuing deadlock in Parliament since 10th of November over opposition demand for a JPC probe. Sources said that Mr.Mukherjee suggested that instead of a JPC probe, a full-fledged debate on the 2G Spectrum allocation issue can be held in the Parliament. This was rejected by the BJP leaders who said discussions have already been held in earlier sessions of the Parliament on the scam.
