Government has approved over 1 crore rupees for five tennis players for their Commanwealth Games prepration. Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar, the Joint secretary in ministry of youth affairs and sports told the reporters today that Somdev Devburman has been santioned the highest amonut of around 26 lakhs. Mr.Bhatnagar also said that government has approved 678 crore rupees so far for the training of more than 1100 players in all 17 disciplines of the games and India will bag 100 medals this time In reply to a question he made it clear which ever national organisation selects the hockey team for the games , it has to publicise its procedure of selection so that players do not suffer during the event.
