The government has ruled out privatisation of the Railways. In a post Budget interaction with newsmen in Parliament on Wednesday , the Railway Minister Ms. Mamta Banerjee said that railways have sought private partnership for the commercial utilisation of surplus land and air space. <br/><br/>The Minister said no government land is being sold to anyone for any purpose. She said that a business model has to be put in place for optimising the revenues of the organisation and for that help of expert private partners is being sought. <br/><br/>In reply to a question she said that the model double decker trains from Delhi to Kolkata will start running within six months.<br/>
