The Government has ruled out any increase in Foreign Direct Investment, FDI limit in defence manufacturing sector. Giving this information in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Defence Minister A K Antony said defence industry was opened up for Indian Private Sector participation in May, 2001 with FDI upto 26 per cent subject to licensing.
