Govt. rules out immediate military action against naxals

The government has ruled out immediate military action against the naxals . Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 50th anniversary of the Mazagon Dock Limited, Defence minister A.K.Antony said that the government is studying the situation but does not want it to be a public debate . Appropriate action will be taken whenever a decision is arrived at. <br/>Regarding infiltration in J&K he said that the armed forces are expecting more attempts of infiltration during summer by terrorists from across the Line of Control (LoC).He said the armed forces are fully prepared to meet the challenge.<br/>Mr. Antony assured that full cooperation will be given in the probe into alleged fake encounter in Kashmir involving some army men. He said whoever is guilty will be punished.<br/> Mr. Antony said that the Army is carefully studying the Armed Forces Tribunal judgement indicting a senior commander for his role in falsifying Kargil war reports and showing bias against a Brigadier. Defence Minister said that he had a meeting with the Army Chief on the issue. <br/>
