<span style="color: #222222;">The government today denied that there is friction in digital payments. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the transactions are increasing year on year.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' Government has waived off Merchant Discount Rate applicable on Debit Card, Bhim UPI and Aadhaar-Pay transactions less than or equal to 2000 rupees in value for a period two years with effect from first of January last year.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' He said the Centre has also initiated incentive schemes such as BHIM cashback scheme for individuals, BHIM incentive scheme for merchants, BHIM Aadhaar merchant incentive scheme for promotion and wider adoption of digital payment.</span>
