The government has ruled out conducting of entrance examination for officers cadre in the Armed Forces in regional languages in near future. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha the Defence Minister Mr. A.K. Antony informed the House that entrance examination for officers cadre in the Armed Forces are conducted both in Hindi and English by Union Public Service Commission. He said that it is done to facilitate participation of youth from across the country including rural areas. In case of Personal Below Officers Rank also entrance examinations are conducted both in English and Hindi.
