Government ruled out any programme to breed tigers in captivity. It should better be left to the nature. The Minister for Environment and Forests, Mr. Jairam Ramesh said this during question hour in the Rajya Sabha . In reply to a supplementary, he said the breeding of white tigers in Panna in Madhya Pradesh will continue to protect this rare animal. In reply to another question, he said, the Manas Sanctuary in Assam is on its way to revival. Kaziranga is also a success story in the state. He said, the Centre will continue giving technical and financial support to both of them. The Minister informed the House that Manas has been listed as a World Heritage site.
