The government has reconstituted the Inter-State Council under the chairmanship of Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh.The Council will have Chief Minister of all states and Union Territories having a Legislative Assembly and Administration of Union Territories not having Legislative Assembly.It will also have six Union Ministers including Agriculture Minister, Sharad Pawar, Finance Minister, P.Chidambaram, Home Minister, Sushilkumar Shinde, Railways Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister, M. Veerappa Moily and Urban Development Minister Kamal Nath as members.Five Ministers namely Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Science and Technology Minister, S. Jaipal Reddy, Transport Minsiter, C.P.Joshi, Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, M.K.Alagiri and Law Minister, Ashwani Kumar are permanent invitees for the Council.
