Union Cabinet today removed the restriction of one LPG cylinder per month to benefit consumers.
Now, the consumers will get 12 cylinders of cooking gas at subsidised rate in a year even if they consume more than one cylinder in a month.
Talking to reporters after the cabinet meeting Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that the change will meet the people's genuine requirements subject to their annual entitlement of subsidized cylinders.
The government has deferred a decision on its stake sale in three PSUs ONGC, Coal India and NHPC as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was not in town.
Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told this to reporters after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs .In the current fiscal the government plans to mop up Rs. 43,425 crore from selling stake in PSUs.
Cabinet also gave its approval for swapping of Save Our Soul (SOS) village land with Airport Authority of India’s airport land.
This will facilitate construction of hangars at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.
The Cabinet also approved the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, MoC in the field of health care between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan.
The signing of this MoC will benefit people of both countries and will covers the areas including human resource development, health financing, health care service delivery, health care system governance and management.
