The Government has released over 762 crore rupees for the development of agriculture under Macro Management of Agriculture (MMA) scheme to various States and Union Territories in 2011-12 as on 30th December last year. According to a Ministry of Agriculture release, the total allocation for the current financial year is to the tune 780 crore rupees.

The scheme which was launched in 2000-01 was revised in 2009 to improve its efficacy in supplementing and complementing the efforts of the States towards enhancement of agricultural production and productivity.
