Union Minister for Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER) Dr Jitendra Singh released MDoNER Calender-2016 along with the curtain raiser brochure for a 3 day mega event "Destination North East – 2016" in Delhi, today. Speaking on the occasion minster said DONER ministry has owned the north east in totality and will go beyond their mandate to serve the north east purpose.<br/><br/>Mr Singh also said the much anticipated North Eastern Road Sector Development Scheme (NERSDS) will be rolled out shortly and the neglected roads of north east will be taken up by Centre as part of this scheme. He hailed the NERSDS scheme as one of its kind as it will be the first separate regional road corporation in the country. The Minister also briefed media personnel about situation in earthquake hit Manipur. He said the causality is very low but few buildings were damaged in the quake.
