Govt rejects opposition demand for resignation of Law Minister

The CBI today said that it shared its draft report on coal block allocation issue with the Law Minister and the Prime Minister's office. The information was given to the Supreme Court in an affidavit by the CBI today. The issue dominated the proceedings in the two Houses of Parliament leading to the adjournment of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha for the day.

The stalemate between the Government and the opposition continued on 4th day . With CBI today filing the affidavit, opposition demanded resignation of the Law Minister, Mr. Ashwani Kumar.

The Government ruled out his resignation saying he has done no wrong in the matter.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Kamal Nath said there is no question of his resignation. The opposition is building pressure on the government to know whether any change was made in the draft report, Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley accused the government of creating an atmosphere of confrontation in the two Houses.

The CPIM leader, Sitaram Yechuri said that the truth must come out.

The CBI Director has made it clear that he will disclose everything before the apex court.
