The Centre today once again said that it is ready to talk to the Naxals, provided they abjure violence. Talking to reporters in New Delhi this evening, Home Minister, Mr. P. Chidambaram said that no democracy can accept violence as instrument of change and, at the same time, the government will not go to war against its own people. He said, the state governments have been asked to bring the extremists to the table. Mr. Chidambaram, however, asserted that government will not tolerate violence at any cost. In reply to a question, the Home Minister said that the government had no intelligence on Maoist siege of Bhubaneshwar-New Delhi Rajadhani Express. Criticising CPI(M) leader, Sitaram Yechuri's allegation that Railway Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee had prior-knowledge of the incident, Mr. Chidambaram said that no responsible leader should hurl baseless charges against another responsible leader on such sensitive issues.<br/>
