Govt ready for demonetisation issue in parliament: Venkaiah Naidu

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu today said the government is ready to discuss the demonetisation issue in the parliament. <br/><br/>Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru today he said that the opposition parties are disrupting the parliament proceeding and protesting outside doing dharnas, standing in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue, which is an insult to memory of the Father of the Nation. <br/><br/>The Minister said not allowing the Parliament to discuss important issues which had forced President Pranab Mukherjee, who is a statesman, to express his anguish over non-functioning of the Parliament should be condemned. <br/><br/>He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken a revolutionary decision for transformation of India, to end corruption and black money. The demonetisation process was not to stop currency supply but to stop black money and money laundering, Mr.Naidu said. <br/><br/>The Congress party was stalling the session and this amounted to contempt against the people and democracy he said. He condemned the opposition observing a black day and aakrosh divas recently and said poor response from the common people was a reflection on such a move and it was a failure.
