The Civil Nuclear Liability Bill will be the focus of attention in Parliament when it meets tomorrow after a three day's break. In a bid to reach opposition, the Science and Technology Minister Prithviraj Chavan today met senior CPIM leader, Sitaram Yechury. Yechury later told reporters that the minister appeared willing to consider our point of view, especially those relating to the suppliers' liability. Chavan also met National Secretary of CPI, D. Raja in this regard. Earlier, he met the BJP leader, Arun Jaitley to seek the main opposition party's support for the bill which will pave the way for resumption of Civil Nuclear Commerce with international community. The Science and Technology Minister has made it clear that government is ready for any reasonable modification in the bill to address the concerns of the opposition. Our correspondent reports that BJP is opposed to a particular clause of the bill while the Left parties have been alleging the government is acting under US pressure. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha Speaker has called a meeting of floor leaders tomorrow to ensure smooth conduct of business in the House.
