The government today re-asserted that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inalienable part of India. There can be no discrimination against visa applicants of Indian nationality on grounds of domicile and ethnicity.
This stand has been clearly conveyed to the Chinese government on several occasions at the highest level. External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna stated this in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today.
He was responding to the denial of visa to a lady delegate from Arunachal Pradesh who was part of the 100-member Indian youth delegation which visited China from July 12-21, 2012. The lady delegate could not travel because the Chinese authorities did not issue her a visa.
