Government is giving special attention to the development of infrastructure in the border areas opposite China. This is being done to meet the strategic and security requirements of the country besides facilitating development of these areas. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday the External Affairs Minister Mr. S.M. Krishna said that the New Delhi is aware that China is developing infrastructure in the border region opposite India in Tibet and Xinjiang autonomous region. These he said includes Qinghai-Tibet railway line and development of road and airport facilities.
