Government is actively pursuing a comprehensive legislation to ensure standards and safety of medical devices. Inaugurating a workshop on regulation of medical devices in New Delhi, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Dinesh Trivedi said the government is waiting for the approval of the state governments on the issue. <br/> <br/>Speaking at the occasion, he called for an indigenous production of medical devices in the country to bring down the cost of such vital components. <br/> <br/>Mr. Trivedi informed that the Health Ministry has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Railways to set up diagnostic centres at 8000 railway stations across the countr<br/><br/>
