Bhartiya Kissan Union affiliated with All India Coordination Committee of farmer Movement has said that the government is pursuing anti-farmer policy in the country. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi today, President of Bhartiya Kissan Union, Ajmer Singh Lakhowal said that the farmers are still committing suicides in the country despite many promises made by the Prime Minister during 2014 elections. He alleged that since the NDA government came into power, dues of hundreds of sugarcane farmers are long pending. Raising concern over the present form of land acquisition Bill, Mr Ajmer said that government's flip-flop policy on it will not benefit anyone. He said that government should withdraw the bill and implement the earlier 2013 Act. He also criticized the government for not implementing the 2005 Swaminathan report on Minimum Support Price for the farmers. He said if the government will not listen to the problems, the union will hold protests all over the country from the 30th of next month.
