Govt provides one-time financial assistance upto RS 15 lakh rupees for treatment of poor patients living below threshold poverty line and suffering from cancer: MoS for Health Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar

<span style="color: #222222;">Minister of State for Health Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar has said that her Ministry provides one-time financial assistance upto 15 lakh rupees for treatment of poor patients living below threshold poverty line and suffering from cancer under Health Minister's Cancer Patient Fund HMCPF which is a component of the Umbrella Scheme of Rashtriya Arogya Nidhi.<br />''<br />''In a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, Ms Pawar said, the financial assistance is provided for treatment of the patient at Regional Cancer Centres RCCs, Tertiary Care Cancer Centres, State Cancer Institutes and other Government hospitals or institutes having cancer treatment facilities.<br />''<br />'' She said, application in prescribed proforma duly signed by the treating doctor and countersigned by Medical Superintendent of the Government hospital along with Income Certificate and Ration Card of the family is required to be submitted for seeking financial assistance under HMCPF. <br />''<br />''The Minister said, the process of cases under HMCPF involves various stages of action like scrutiny of application, placing the matter before Technical Committee, administrative and financial approvals. She said, financial assistance for eligible patients is released to the treating hospitals or institutes.</span><br />
