Government is providing 540 essentials medicines and 109 stents to the people at discount price through AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) scheme.<br/><br/>In a written reply in the Lok Sabha today, Health Minister J P Nadda said 33 AMRIT pharmacies are functioning in the country at various places and it has served 5.14 lakh patients till October this year.<br/><br/>Mr. Nadda informed that over 18 crore rupees worth medicines have been sold through theses outlets. He said the Centre is in the process opening 79 more such outlets.
