Govt. proposing to introduce new policy for further expansion of FM Radio

The Government is proposing to introduce a new policy for further expansion of FM Radio broadcasting services through private agencies. This information was given in a written reply in the Lok Sabha by the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. C M Jatua. He said the main reason for the new policy is to meet the demand for FM radio in many cities. The Minister said the move will also help bringing border areas, particularly Jammu and Kashmir, North East and island territories under the FM map besides utilizing the frequency spectrum earmarked for FM broadcasting.
