Govt proposes to set up independent Coal Regulatory Authority

The Government has proposed to set up an independent Coal Regulatory Authority to regulate and conserve resources of coal sector in the country. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Minister of state for Coal, Pratik Prakashbapu Patil said that the draft Bill, 2012 for setting up of Independent Regulatory Authority has been referred for consideration of a Group of Ministers and thereafter the details will be finalized.
