Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today said that the Government has proposed to launch four new schemes this financial year. <br/><br/>The schemes include interest subsidy on educational loans for overseas studies, promotional activities for linguistic minorities, containing population decline of small minorities, and strengthening of WAKF boards. <br/><br/>Briefing mediapersons in New Delhi, he said that the Ministry of Minority Affairs is working in close co-ordination with various ministries for the setting up of an Equal Opportunity Commision.<br/><br/>Replying to a question on the fatwa against working in banks or insurance companies, Mr. Khurshid said that the work of the Ministry for the welfare of minorities is the biggest condemnation of the factors opposing their development.
