Govt. proposes four more bills for consideration & passing in current session of Parliament

The government has proposed four more bills for consideration and passing in next week of the current Monsoon session of Parliament. These includes the Benami Transactions (Prevention) Amendment Bill, 2015 and the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016 in Lok Sabha and the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Bill, 2013 and the Whistle Blowers Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2015 in Rajya Sabha. <br/><br/>Lok Sabha is likely to take up a Calling Attention Motion moved by Bhartrihari Mahtab of BJD on the undertaking of a barrage project over river Mahanadi by Chattisgarh Government which is severely impacting flow of water into Hirakud dam in Odisha. <br/><br/>On taking up of GST Bill in Rajya Sabha, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar appealed to all parties to sense the mood of the nation and cooperate in passage of the bill. He said, Government is engaged in talks with political parties to ensure passage of the bill during the current session. The Business Advisory Committee has already allocated five hours for discussing the bill in Rajya Sabha.
