Government on Wednesday promised to protect safety and dignity of minorities and prevent them from becoming a victim of what it called the narrow-minded politics.<br/><br/>Close on the heels of Dadri lynching incident, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi met Muslim clerics and other members of the community held in New Delhi and assured them that religious and social rights of minorities are absolutely safe.<br/><br/>Referring to the incident, he said some unfortunate incidents cannot affect peace, unity and harmony in the country.<br/><br/>He said politics of hatred needs to be defeated through unity and harmony. <br/><br/>Mr. Naqvi said the intention of the BJP is to take the country forward on development path and time has come to stop hurting sentiments for votes.
