Govt. prepared to discuss all issues raised by Opposition under rules; Winter session begins Tuesday

The government today said that it is prepared to discuss any issue that the opposition raises under the rules in the Winter session of Parliament starting on Tuesday.Briefing media, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal hoped that the Parliament will be allowed to run smoothly. He said that the government plans to introduce as many as twenty-two Bills in this session. The land acquisition amendment and the Rehabilitation and Resettlement are among the nine Bills listed for introduction, consideration and passing. The Enemy Property Amendment and Validation Bill -2010 will be withdrawn as the government plans to bring a fresh bill. There will be 24 sittings spread over 35 days in the Winter Session.Mr. Bansal said that the session will be mainly devoted to essential government legislation and discussion on issues that the political parties may raise. Our correspondent says that the opposition is gearing to take on the government on various issues including the Mumbai Housing scam, 2G Spectrum, corruption in Common Wealth Games.
