The Government today pledged to redouble its efforts to bring perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attack to justice.In a statement on the second anniversary of the 26/11 attack the Prime Minister said that the country will never succumb to the designs of the enemies.He said that two years ago Mumbai was subjected to a brutal terrorist attack that claimed the lives of hundreds of innocent people. While saluting the courage, unity and resolve of ordinary Mumbaikars and the brave and selfless actions of the men in uniform during the attack, Dr Manmohan Singh said that it is this spirit and strength of character of the Indian people that will defeat forces that seek to threaten the country's social fabric and way of life.He said that nation joins the bereaved families in remembering and mourning those who perished in this barbaric attack.Earlier India has called upon Pakistan to act on its commitment to bring perpetrators of Mumbai terrorist attacks to justice. It conveyed to Islamabad New Delhi's regret that despite repeated assurances by Pakistani leadership at the highest level and the cooperation extended by India in the ongoing trial and investigations in Pakistan into the Mumbai attacks, there has not been substantive and verifiable progress towards bringing all the perpetrators and masterminds of the heinous attack to justice.
