Govt plans to set up Film Commission in a year's time

The government is planning to set up a Film Commission in a year's time which will be a single window mechanism to facilitate film making by both Indian and Foreign film makers. In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, the Information and Broadcasting Minister Ms. Ambika Soni said, this is being done because a large number of Indians want to make films abroad and vice-versa and there are a lot of difficulties in the processes involved.

Ms. Soni said, the Planning Commission has sanctioned the proposal of over 500 crore rupees to restore and digitalise all films and documentaries which have been in the archives and this will be completed in the next five years.
