Government is planning to set up 20 world class universities in the country. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today, Human Resources Development Minister Smriti Irani said there is a proposal to establish a regulatory architecture to enable ten each public and private institutions in the country to emerge as world class teaching and research institutions. She said, the details in this regard are being worked out.
